THE NATIONAL FOOTBALL FOUNDATION AND COLLEGE HALL OF FAME
PRESS RELEASE
The 48th Annual Gene Casey-New Haven County Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame Scholar Athlete Dinner will be held on Sunday, March 30, 2008 at Fantasia, 404 Washington Ave. North Haven, Ct 06473.
Twenty-nine high school and prep school scholar athletes will be honored for scholarship excellence and citizenship. In addition, retired football official David Holdwright of Hamden, a veteran of 35 years officiating will receive the Distinguished American Award, Donna Limone of Branford will receive the Chapter Award of Merit for service to the chapter, Ralph Zingarella of North Haven, will receive the Officials Recognition Award, from the New Haven Football Officials Association and Paul Sponheimer, head coach at Seymour High School, will receive the Coach of the Year Award. The Wildcats won the Class SS State Championship last season.
In addition, Seymour and Ansonia will receive state championship awards for winning the Class SS and Class S titles and Hopkins School will receive the NEPSAC Class C Prep School Championship.
The reception begins at noon with the dinner at 1:00pm. Tickets are $40 each and can be ordered by calling Donna Limone at 203-481-8375.
